Olabisi Sulu--Olumide is a respected Nigerian architect, practitioner and Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, with over 30 years of experience as a Chartered Architect across private consultancy, public service and academia. She has built a distinguished career defined by multidisciplinary experience in projects of increasing scale and complexity, including national parks, religious buildings, public housing developments and other major built-environment assignments.
A graduate of the University of Lagos and currently a Partner at Taylan Preston Limited, Bisi combines technical expertise with strong capabilities in project, property and contract management, stakeholder engagement and structured delivery. Sustainability remains a consistent thread in her work, supported by a commitment to environmental preservation and eco-friendly design practice. She is committed to continuing professional development and has attended training courses in Nigeria and abroad.
Olabisi strengthened her project management capabilities by overseeing multiple estates under a government housing scheme across successive administrations, ensuring disciplined delivery and strict budgetary control. A conference participant and paper presenter, Bisi is recognised for contributing meaningfully to professional and academic discourse within the built-environment sector.
A former member of the Executive Council of the Nigerian Institute of Architects, Bisi served as Vice Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter, followed by a pioneering two terms as Chairman of the National Public Relations Committee. She is a strong advocate for gender inclusion in the built environment and continues to support the development of emerging female architects through mentorship and professional exposure. Bisi’s credibility, strategic perspective and leadership gained from the prestigious Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public and International Affairs enables her to influence policy, promote safer building practices and support curriculum reform to ensure the continued relevance of architectural education.
